Dee Lite were so much a part of the New York scene in the late 80’s.  We were all so psyched when they hit it big.  I hate when people consider them one hit wonders.  They’ve clearly been watching too much VH1 and don’t know much about the house music scene.   Dee Lite were after all not really pop so the fact that they did have one huge hit was really just a cherry on the sundae.

Many of their songs were socially conscious so this jingle is certainly as valid now as it was when it was released 20 years ago.  Especially because if we don’t get out there and register and vote then Obama could lose the election.  And what a tragedy that would be with the conservatives the GOP is trying to stuff down our throats.

Lady Miss Kier is now a successful d.j. she spent some time abroad in London and is now back in New York delighting audiences in a new way.
